Welcome

Men’s Heavyweight Rowing is a varsity team at Georgetown University in Washington, DC. Founded in 1876 as Georgetown University Boat Club, the team has won numerous championships at the Dad Vail Regatta, the Champion and Avaya International Regattas (now the ECAC Championships), and the IRA National Championship Regatta. Additionally the team has competed at the Henley Royal Regatta, the Tokyo Bay Regatta, the US Olympic Trials and has hosted such teams as the Egyptian and German national squads for racing on the Potomac.  The team competes today at the highest level of American collegiate rowing as a member of the EARC Eastern Sprints league and the Intercollegiate Rowing Association (IRA).  The team recruits from across the US and around the world; at the same time, many - including Mike Vespoli - have begun as walk-on novices at Georgetown and end up on the national team.

Welcome to the team-run site, where we offer information and media relating to the team’s schedule, results, coaching, roster, history and recruiting.
